Grades 1 to 5

Redwood is the closest you will get to a sleep away camp, with all the advantages of a day camp!

Small groups, excellent staff, and an amazing variety of challenging activities are the mainstay of our special programming for children from grades one to five.

For campers completing grade 1, the average group size is 12 campers . For campers completing grades 2-5, the average group size is 14. There are 2 counsellors per group and an instructor at each activity.

Over 20 amazing and challenging activities that children participate in each week:

Swimming: swim instruction every morning and a general swim or waterslides in the afternoon in our four heated outdoor pools.

Team and individual sports: soccer, floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, softball, tennis, rock climbing, gaga ball, tetherball, biking, batting cages.

Creative arts and dance: beading and jewelry-making, pottery, arts and crafts, pottery, dance.

Spice of life: nature & science, animal farm, jungle vine, shuttle, tetherball, games room, driver’s ed, hayrides.

Special notes about some of our unique activities:

Driver’s Ed: Driver’s Ed offers children the unique opportunity of learning how to drive on a special golf cart. The golf cart travels a maximum of 5 kms an hour around special track. An instructor sits right next to the child to supervise and assist campers from grades one and up, instructing them on how to handle a steering wheel, judge distances and follow safety rules.

Biking: Campers are first introduced to biking on a grassy course and the instructors will teach your child how to ride a bike if they don't know how to do so already. Once the child feels comfortable on the bike, they will move to a more challenging bike path and then a ride around the camp.  Helmets are provided by the camp.
