Founded in 1961 on the ACQ's mission is to "recognize and promote the quality and educational value of the CAMP experience in Quebec" by bringing together organizations offering a camp program. vacation, day camp, nature class, family camp or hosting groups in order to support them, promote them and ensure their quality. "

The OCA is a voluntary, non-profit organization that develops high camping guidelines. The Association has established a program of accreditation as an assurance of quality, and to ensure that high standards of practice are in place in all OCA Camps.
