Outdoor and Physical Activities

This rock climbing activity is designed to be a series of challenges that transforms a simple climb into a swashbuckling adventure.

  • Driver’s Ed:  Unique to Redwood is the Driver’s Ed program, where children from grades 1 to 7 learn to drive on a golf cart, navigating a specially designed track at 5 km/hr. This fun challenge teaches safe steering, judgment of distances, and builds essential skills that transfer to other outdoor activities.

  • Sports: Redwood offers a wide variety of sports: soccer, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, softball, gagaball, tetherball, and even pickleball—ensuring that every camper finds a sport they love.

  • Water Activities and Fun Swim Time: Water is a central theme at Redwood with four heated outdoor pools and two waterslide, the gentle Speedway and the thrilling Twister,  campers of all ages.  With daily swim instruction that adheres to Swim for Life principles, campers build confidence in deep water, learn proper swimming techniques, and enjoy a fun swim time that’s both safe and exciting.

  • The Spice of Life: From biking on a challenging dirt bike path to swinging on the jungle vine and riding on a hayride, Redwood’s outdoor programs are designed to push boundaries. These activities not only enhance physical fitness but also build teamwork skills, leadership, and a sense of adventure. Whether it’s a one-week summer camp or an extended day camp session, each day at camp is filled with missions with challenges that keep the energy high.

Creative and Educational Programs

  • Arts, Beading, and Dance: For the creative side of camp, Redwood offers arts and crafts sessions that include two- or three-dimensional art techniques, beading, and jewelry making. Dance programs and a Redwood Variety show give children the opportunity to explore their creativity and build self-confidence through performance. These hands-on activities are carefully planned to develop essential skills in a fun and engaging way.

  • Nature, Science, and Hands-On Learning: Campers gather around the nature and science table to perform experiments and engage in hands-on activities that spark their imagination. This focus on experiential learning builds valuable skills and promotes problem‑solving and critical thinking.
