Redwood's overnights is an ideal sleep-away adventure for children who, during their stay at camp, would like to try an overnight stay. This will be offered exclusively on weeks 2, 4, 5 & 7 to boys and girls in grades 1 to 4. Our overnight building is fully screened and is equipped with bathrooms, showers, a kitchen and dining area, and enough bunk beds to accommodate 12 campers and 3 senior staff members.
Campers bring their sleeping bags to camp and enjoy an evening full of activities such as swimming, gaga ball, dance, cook-outs and lots more. The counsellors prepare supper and breakfast for them and the following day they will enjoy a Domino's Pizza or Subway lunch that includes a fruit, vegetable, juice and dessert. This popular activity will fill up quickly and space is very limited.
Cost is $155 per night.
Reservations: To request an overnight for your child, you must complete and submit the overnight form. They are on a first come basis and are subject to availability. Once your form has been submitted you will receive a confirmation phone call to finalise the reservation. In order to give this opportunity to all campers, please choose only 1 overnight. If you are interested in more, we will put your child on the waiting list and reach out if spaces become available.
Meals: Redwood provides all meals. Supper can include hot dogs, mac 'n'cheese & grilled cheese, vegetables, fruit and juice. Snacks may consist of fruit cups, pudding, cookies, chips, popcorn, marshmallows and hot chocolate. Breakfast includes pancakes, toast, fruit, milk and juice. The lunch for the following day is supplied by Redwood and will consist of either Domino's pizza or a Subway sandwich, vegetables, fruit, a snack and juice. If your child has any food allergies, restrictions, or if you would like to provide your own meals, it is important that you call the office to discuss and review the food items.
What to bring: Sleeping bag, pillow, towel, face cloth, pyjamas, extra bathing suit, sweat pants, sweat shirt, extra underwear, socks, raincoat, hair brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, sunscreen, insect repellent, flashlight and flip-flops (recommended for bathroom), all in a separate overnight bag from their usual camp bag.
Phone: The office will only be open until 5:30 P.M. to answer phone calls. Messages will be checked the following morning. If there is an urgent message, please leave it on the voice mail and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Cancellations: There are no refunds for cancellations.
Please note that if your child is showing cold symptoms, we will do our best to accommodate them on another week or a full refund will be issued.
Overnights may be cancelled if there are an insufficient number of campers or if severe weather conditions occur.
